Install PlainVPN on Ubuntu in 3 steps
The current Linux release is tested on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, 64-bit. Installation takes only a few minutes.

Install from Terminal
Open Terminal and run these commands. APT will install the required system dependencies automatically.
cd ~/Жүктеулер
sudo apt install ./plainvpn_1.0.0_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./plainvpn_1.0.0_amd64.deb

Restart and connect
Restart your computer once after installation. Then open PlainVPN from the applications menu, sign in, and connect.
sudo reboot
Important:
Install this release through Terminal using the command above. The first restart activates the permissions required by the PlainVPN networking service.

- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS — tested and supported
- 64-bit Intel or AMD processor (amd64/x86-64)
- Administrator access for installation
- An active PlainVPN subscription
- Internet access during installation

Linux installation FAQ
Why is a restart required after installation?
PlainVPN installs a protected networking service and adds your user to the PlainVPN access group. Restarting applies that group membership cleanly before your first connection.
How do Linux updates work?
PlainVPN checks for new releases and tells you when an update is available. Download the new .deb package and install it with the same APT command. Your saved settings remain in place.
Does the Linux app support obfuscation?
Yes. Traffic obfuscation is included in PlainVPN for Linux and can be enabled before connecting.
How do I remove PlainVPN?
Open Terminal and run:
sudo apt remove plainvpn
What should I do if installation or connection fails?
Restart the computer once, confirm that Ubuntu is fully updated, and try again. If the problem continues, contact PlainVPN support and include the exact error shown in the app.
