Privacy Policy
PlainVPN is built with privacy first. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do not collect.
Quick summary
- We do not keep logs of your browsing activity. We do not store the sites you visit, DNS queries you make, or content you access.
- Minimal account data. We store the data needed to run your subscription and allow you to sign in.
- Security & abuse prevention. We keep limited technical records to protect the service (fraud, spam, attacks).
- Support is optional. If you open a ticket, we store what you send us so we can respond.
1) Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service.
Account information
- Email address (used for login, account notices, and support).
- Hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Basic account status (active, cancelled, etc.).
Subscription & payments
Payments are handled by payment providers (for example Apple, Google, or card processors). We store limited subscription metadata such as plan type, renewal status, and provider identifiers needed to confirm access.
We do not store full card numbers. Payment details are handled by the payment processor.
Support tickets
If you contact us (by support ticket or email), we store the message content, any attachments you provide, and timestamps so we can help you.
Technical / security data (limited)
We may temporarily process limited technical information to keep the service reliable and secure, such as:
Encrypted VPN traffic is routed through PlainVPN servers solely to provide the VPN service and is not analyzed or logged in terms of your browsing activity.
- Connection events needed to provision VPN access (e.g., device registration, server assignment).
- Service abuse signals (rate limiting, fraud prevention, attack mitigation).
- Operational logs about server health (not your browsing activity).
2) What we do NOT collect
- Websites you visit or pages you view.
- DNS queries you make (the domains you look up).
- Traffic content (messages, files, video streams, etc.).
- Detailed activity logs linked to your browsing behavior.
3) How we use information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To provide VPN service functionality (authentication, device limits, server access).
- To process subscriptions and validate active access.
- To respond to support requests and communicate important notices.
- To protect the service from abuse and keep infrastructure stable.
4) Data retention
We keep account and subscription information while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, operational integrity, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
Support tickets are stored as long as needed to handle your request and maintain support history.
5) Sharing & third parties
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data with service providers only when needed to operate PlainVPN (for example payment processors, email delivery services, or hosting providers), and only to the extent required to provide the service.
6) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service and your account, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and least-privilege practices.
No system is perfect, but we design PlainVPN to minimize stored data and reduce risk.
PlainVPN follows Google Play policies regarding user data handling and transparency.
7) Your choices & rights
- You can update your account info inside your cabinet when available.
- You can delete your account inside the app or you can request account deletion by contacting support.
